A Microphone to Handle Any Environment

Our unique dual-capsule design cancels thumps, tames breath and pops, and delivers unsurpassed audio quality. Find out which one is right for you.

Features

Each A3 Podium Microphone starts with dual precision-crafted capsules, exhaustively tested for perfect sonic performance. Assembled and fine-tuned to optimize polar patterns and frequency response, the result is an uncompromising microphone for the most demanding environments.

Fixed or Switchable Patterns

Choose hand-tuned omni, cardioid, or hypercardioid patterns, or the three-in-one switchable A3S.

A3 Hypercardioid

The hypercardioid pickup pattern is nicely focused for a single source.

The pattern provides maximum overall rejection of interfering sounds for clean audio.

A3 Cardioid

The cardioid pickup pattern has a wider front angle for small groups.

This pattern provides maximum rejection of sources behind the microphone.

A3 Omnidirectional

The omnidirectional pattern picks up evenly from all directions.

Choose this pattern for full range frequency response, and complete coverage of larger groups.

A3 Selectable

Switch between omni, cardioid, or hypercardioid patterns.

Choose a selectable pattern and be ready for anything; the most versatile option for use in any environment.

Precision Acoustics

Extremely well-controlled directional patterns. Exceptionally low noise. Completely natural frequency response that captures the tone of vocals or instruments.

Breath and Pop Rejection

The A3 Podium’s multistage wind noise reduction design acoustically and electronically tames pops and breath noise.

Advanced Vibration Rejection

The unique two-capsule design of the A3 Podium cancels out thumps, bumps, and handling noise, for distraction free presentations and recordings.

RF Immunity

Rigorous shielding and a proprietary circuit design protect the A3 from radio frequency interference, including wireless devices and cell phones.

Three Standard Lengths

Standard 12″, 18″ or 24″ lengths to suit any application, with flexible gooseneck near the head and base for precise positioning.

Options:

Pattern

The A3 Podium Microphone is available with any of three fixed polar patterns, or in a selectable version which is switchable between all three.

  • The Omnidirectional pattern picks up evenly from all directions. Microphones with this pattern feature a full range frequency response for natural recordings.
  • The Cardioid pickup pattern has a wider front angle for small groups. The cardioid pattern has maximum rejection of sources behind the microphone.
  • Hypercardioid pickup pattern is nicely focused for a single source. This pattern has maximum overall rejection of interfering sounds for clean audio.
Length

The A3 Podium Microphone has three standard lengths. length is measured from the bottom of the base to the front of the microphone capsule.

  • The 12″ (30.48 cm) length is perfect for low-profile installations.
  • The 18″ (45.72 cm) length is the most popular and well-suited to a variety of applications.
  • The 24″ (60.96 cm) length is long enough to reach across lecterns and works well in situations where the mounting point is farther from the subject.
